Night skiing on the Stümpflingbahn
The Spitzingsee ski resort has been attracting numerous visitors to night skiing on Thursdays and Fridays for several years now.
The ascent with the chairlift gives an almost floating feeling in the dark and, with a bit of luck, the stars twinkle in the deep black night sky.
Clear, high-contrast shadows are created where the light from the floodlights falls through the trees. The darkness sharpens the senses: the sound of the ski edges on the frozen snow is more intense than during the day.
Powerful spotlights illuminate the slope in a unique way, and the swirling snow creates fascinating plays of light. What often remains inconspicuous in daylight in the sun or at dusk becomes a special visual experience when floodlit.
If you need a break, you can stop for refreshments at the "base camp" at the Lyra-Alm, right next to the valley station. Occasionally there is a barbecue over an open fire. At the end of the evening, visitors return enriched not only with culinary delights, but also with new impressions.
